No. InterviewNail is sold as a one-time software license. AI usage is separate and can be handled through a personal OpenAI key, personal Anthropic key, or optional InterviewNail AI credits.
What is the introductory price?
The InterviewNail App is $79 during the introductory offer and $95 at regular price.
What is included in the bundle?
The bundle includes the InterviewNail App and 1,000 InterviewNail AI credits. This is for people who don't want to mess with getting their own AI API Key.
Does the one-time price include unlimited AI usage?
No. The app price covers the software license. AI usage is paid through a personal OpenAI or Anthropic account or through InterviewNail AI credits. The bundle includes 1,000 initial InterviewNail credits.
Can I use my own OpenAI API key?
Yes. Enter your own OpenAI key in-app and it's used directly from your device — never sent to InterviewNail.
Can I use my own Anthropic API key?
Yes, the same way as OpenAI — your own key, used directly from your device.
What happens after the 1,000 bundle credits are used?
You can purchase more InterviewNail AI credits at any time, or switch to bringing your own OpenAI or Anthropic key.
Can I refund my unused InterviewNail AI credits?
InterviewNail AI credits are non-refundable. If something's gone wrong (a mistaken purchase, a billing issue), contact support and we'll take a look.
Do InterviewNail AI credits expire?
No. InterviewNail AI credits never expire. That's as long as the business is active, which we hope will be for 500 years.
Is it possible to auto-add InterviewNail AI credits when my balance gets low?
Yes. Turn on auto-recharge from the customer portal, and more credits are added automatically when your balance gets low.
Can I transfer my credits to another license?
No. InterviewNail AI credits are tied to your application license key. Transferring credits between license keys is not possible.
What data is sent to AI providers?
Only the completed text and context needed for the specific request — such as your question, selected notes, and Resume Summary. Raw audio is never sent; it's transcribed locally first.
Is interview audio uploaded?
No. Your voice is transcribed right on your computer, and the audio itself is never sent anywhere. The text of your question and any relevant context may be sent when you ask for AI help.
Are screenshots stored on disk?
InterviewNail compresses screenshots and holds them in memory rather than writing them to disk for its screen-analysis workflows.
Does InterviewNail support multiple monitors?
Yes. You can select and cycle through connected displays and configure where InterviewNail windows appear.
Which Windows versions are supported?
Version 1 targets Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 or newer, with Windows x64 and Windows ARM64 builds.
Are future major versions included?
Your license includes free updates within the major version you purchased. A new major version is a separate purchase. If you purchase a license for version 1, you get free updates to version 1. Once version 2 comes out, you'll need to purchase that version separately. We may offer upgrade discounts to users who purchased a previous version.
Can I deactivate or transfer a device license?
Yes. Manage which devices are active from the customer portal; deactivating a device frees up its seat immediately.
What happens when I run out of credits?
AI-dependent features pause until you purchase more credits or switch to your own API key. Local content, transcription, and non-AI features keep working.
Can I use local content and transcription without AI access?
Yes. Profiles, local notes, local transcription, and other non-AI features remain available even without AI credits or a personal API key configured.
When is AI assistance permitted during an interview or assessment?
That's determined by the interviewer, employer, assessment provider, and applicable policies — not by InterviewNail. You're responsible for confirming what's permitted before using AI assistance, recording, transcription, or screenshot processing in any given context.
